Cardboard Boat Regatta Rules:
Each vessel can only be constructed with cardboard and duct tape. No part of the vessel may be constructed with any other material. No paint, glue, or any adhesive other than duct tape.
Oars can only be made of cardboard.
Cardboard may be as thick as you wish.
Boats must be made prior to check in nothing added after check in allowed.
Boats must be enclosed. Crew must be on top of vessel-no dangling extremities.
Boat passenger area may not be over the occupants’ shoulders.
Design is up to the builder! Examples: pirate ship, dragon, race car etc.
If any illegal items used in construction are discovered during pre-or-post race inspection, the boat will be disqualified.
Teams can be 2 to 4 members. However, only two members can be in a boat.
Team members can be any age but if unable to swim they must wear a life jacket.
The race must begin and end with the two person crew intact.
Swimming or pulling the boat will result in disqualification.
Boat will race 50 meters starting and ending in the shallow end of the pool.
Time in heats will determine placement for finals.
Fastest four vessels race for championships.
